NUJ CEC freelance directory: terms and conditions
When a journalist becomes a member of the NUJ, they commit themselves to working in accordance with the standards set in the NUJ Code of Conduct and Working Practices.
Anyone commissioning work from someone they have found in this Directory is expected to negotiate the rates and conditions fairly and openly with the freelance journalist concerned. In particular the NUJ expects that the default licence granted by the freelance journalist for their work will be First Serial Rights for the territory in which it is published. If the commissioning party requires a licence for any additional rights these should be specified in advance together with the payment that will be made for each. |
