Job cuts, pensions under attack, below-inflation pay awards, long hours, increased workloads and employers compromising quality and standards – journalists and journalism are under threat from employers seeking to boost profits or cut costs.

Individual chapels and branches across the union have waged very effective campaigns to expose low pay, oppose redundancies and defend quality and working conditions.

It’s time now for the union as one to STAND UP FOR JOURNALISM.

On 5 November the NUJ is urging all chapels, branches and members to join with thousands of other journalists to highlight the issues facing their members.

The NUJ is urging chapels and branches to start organising local and/or workplace events and activity. There are dozens of possibilities – the key thing is to get involved.

Contact your local branch or chapel, if you have one, or the NUJ.
