From 9-16 March, Alliance Ciné, the organisation responsible for the creation of the Human Rights Film Network, will be hosting the annual International Human Rights Film Festival right here in Paris at the cosy and quaint Cinema Le Nouveau Latina.
Daring, thought-provoking films from across the world will be screened everyday, targeting diverse, overlooked topics such as bride kidnapping in Kyrgyzstan or offering an original and personal angle on the usual suspects of human rights abuses such as Coca Cola. The Festival offers these often novice directors a much needed platform to showcase their work and promote their cause. This year there will be a particular focus on the environmental and social responsibility of corporations and multinationals.
Many of the screenings will be followed by a Q and A with the directors and, a first for the Festival, two master classes will be held with directors Jean-Louis Saporito and Petr Lom.
