I hear from branch secretary Alison Culliford that some members are having press card problems. These may be linked to the subs problems we’ve also been hearing about. Following last Tuesday’s branch meeting, I have written to head office about this and hope to have some clarity soon.

Meanwhile, members should note that there is an email address for all subs problems:

 parissubs@nuj.org.uk

and for all press card problems:

 parispresscards@nuj.org.uk.

Both are now dealt with by head office. All this has been on the website for some time and I apologise for not making it clearer. The problem is: it is in the members sections and if members never log-in to this, they never actually see it. In the 21st century when most communication is online, I don’t know what the solution is to this. I’d really welcome your suggestions because the more time we as volunteers spend dealing with these admin issues which members can handle themselves, the less time we have to actually provide services and do the stuff that we all want to do.
